Franchise Zoos and Research

It surprised me that I had to research everything from scratch when I started a new franchise zoo, which I intended to make an East Asian style zoo.
Doesn't take too long to research stuff, but it is kind of silly that we need to invent the wheel for every new franchise zoo.
 
I'm copying my response to a similar thread(s) on Steam (https://steamcommunity.com/app/703080/discussions/0/1657817111846650745/). I feel i have a reasonable compromise:

I'm literally on the fence on this issue. I do believe the vet research needing to be redone for each zoo is fair in franchise because of the progression and because its based on animals you currently have in your zoo.

But on the other hand I think it would also be fair (and a reasonable compromise) to have the mechanical research carried over in full or in pieces. This would allow you to start a new zoo with a different theme for example and start building/decorating from the getgo with the researched theme rather than having to come back and rework things once you have researched. Alternatively allowing you to pick 1-3 fully researched mechanics/themes when you start a new zoo - provided you've researched them in another zoo already - could also work.
 
Another compromise could be to have the research behind advanced research or some other type of research that will become available when you fully research something. A slow and lengthy research, lets say 10x time the amount of time it took to research the theme or animal. When completing that research, it will become available for other zoo's.
 
Maybe bonus to research based on gold levels across zoos. 5% faster for zoo #2. 10% faster if you researched that specific one to level 3 in two franchises already. This would be a nice progression and allow users to get faster to their super cool ideas for their new zoos.
 
It makes the start of the next franchise boring. Put in a camel and a turtle, run at 3x speed while researching everything, erase when done and use the 500k earned while researching to start real zoo. Dull couple of hours.

I think a contributing factor to this effect is how easy it is to make money off of few species and few number of animals of those few species. It gets unproportionally difficult to maintain finances with more animals and species. It should be balanced to be harder to generate money off of smaller zoos and the increasing difficulty with larger zoos toned down.
 
I think an option to transfer should be available.

If you want to start over with a fresh start and like the current feature, you can continue doing so.
But if you would pay (for example) $1.000.000 from 1 zoo or 10.000CC from your franchise, to transfer your research progress from 1 of your zoos, that would help too.
Maybe differrent figures if you want to transfer both or just 1 research progress ??

The option dinopilot mentions is indeed a dull option to start a themed zoo.
I want to start a African Zoo with African scenery.. But the game forces you to start differently..
It doesn't make much sense to me. To me, franchise is having multiple themed zoos within 1 franchise..
