Don't forget the scooped containers will be considered as stolen goods, so you will need to smuggle it to a place with a black market, preferably an outpost so you have less risk of being scanned by Authority Vessels.
If there are Authority Vessels around when you pick them up, I'm not sure how they will react if they scan you... I never had the balls to try it yet...
In my experience the authority vessels hit you with a hefty fine (2X the value of the cargo), but not a bounty, so 24hrs until wanted if you don't pay... Unless you can take evasive maneuvers to avoid the scan or are in silent running.
