Free ARX

Now that I have your attention with the clickbait title (lol) I am talking about the 400 free ARX us Commanders get each week for just playing the game. I suspect like most, I reach the 400 limit within a couple of day of just normal play and it got me thinking (yes that is a dangerous situation), so I put the question I asked myself out to the Community:

If there was no ceiling each week, how many ARX do you think you could earn each week just playing the game?

My answer, I think comfortably around 1,000 to maybe 1,250 on an average week. Sometimes if I am doing a lot of engineering probably more.

Just to clarify, give your estimates for normal play, not just concentrating on activities you know will generate the maximum number of free ARX.

Remember, this is just some light hearted banter, so no ejecting the pacifier, throwing the toys out the pram please :D

I doubt I'd get more than 600 ARX:unsure:.

My Exploration in the black, selling to my 'in-tow' Carrier, usually reaches the 400 limit on Monday's.
This means that I save selling Tuesday's & Wednesday's data 'til after the Thursday morning tick & that then gives me a 150-200 ARX start for the next week.......

........Yeah! Exploration does generate a lot of in-game ARX!........& it depends how much time I use my laptop for 'additional' sports instead of playing ED;)

Zero.

I rarely play on a daily basis and when I play I mostly do cargo mission. Single evening, which is an hour or two, gives me whooping ~17 ARX (trade: 12 / exploration: 4 / other: 1). Extrapolating it into full week we are talking about 120-ish ARX a week.

I'm so bad at this game...

Nope, not bad, you just play it differently to some others. But I bet you enjoy doing what you are doing (otherwise you wouldn't be doing it right). The question was just an exercise in theory crafting to be honest, I was just curious to what other Commanders thought they could 'earn' if there was no cap.

I do know that if there wasn't a cap there would be video's, talking heads, streamers, influencers and a plethora of posts detailing the latest meta to get a bazzilion ARZ a week lol

There was a time when I played on more regular basis. Sadly even then I didn't reach the ARX limit. The only ocassion was when I came back from the past-Sag*A and dumped about 300M in exploration data. Instant 400 ARX. Apart from that I'm rather simple minded - when I have time the only real thing I can do is simple A-B cargo run. I just start at some station, pick th emost profitable mission and go. Deliver, pick another mission and go. Credit payout the only factor, this way I'm roaming the Bubble, rarely visiting the same station twice.

Interestingly this playstyle isn't very rewarding. Credits are on the lower end, no mats collected, rep everywhere is at basic level. But I kinda like that simple way. One could say it's my zen, just pick a cargo and let's see where we will end up.

I'm the CMDR that lowers the statistics ;)

Forgot all about arx when there was nothing good left in the store to get. Just pay in rubles and you don't have to worry too much about the free ones.

For the free stuff, they recently made combat the current exploit, which earns crazy free arx so credits and arx that way.

Heck I probably do worse at times. I am a Military Logistician by trade so I spend more time trying to work out the perfect mission than actually doing it. For example, I take a fetch mission for 180T of silver. My Corvette has a 400T capacity so I have to find other missions either to the source station or fetch missions that can be sourced at the station totally near as I can to 220T. Then I have to work out how many were at Elite status, so I can try to guess how many times I will be interdicted enroute (so I know how many limpets to take to hoover up those tasty mats). Then I have to work out the best commodity to buy to see at the source station. I never leave a station without a full load. And yes I do smile when it all works out, not really caring about the credits, more the methodology of doing a near perfect mission run.

Completionist, ha! So then I'm a total opposite. I can fly 400t Anaconda with single 16t cargo as that was the most profitable mission atm. Recently I just use Krait as there are no good missions to fill up that large ships. It's better to take ~100t mission in a Krait than Anaconda, I'm flying just half empty rather than 3/4th... But this impacts my overall performance - within the same time frame my earnings are lower which translates into low ARX.

But I don't care about ARX - truth be told there are no things to buy in the shop. 99.9% of paintjobs are between "meh" and "fugly" and I already have the ones I like. I could get additional engine effect but for what reason - I don't see it at all. Laser effect - well, I don't combat (still on to-do list). Ship kits are equally beyond interest.

Right now the only thing I'm interested in is ship collecting. There are few I would like to re-introduce into my fleet. Overall cost is about 70M, let's say 100M for some basic D-rating. Shouldn't be a problem as I have free 2B laying around but I set myself a goal not to drop below that threshold. This means I need to earn that missing money. It will take time as I play other games in my free time as well as enjoying my non gaming hobbies - RC crawling (finally some snow I could use), tabletop minis painting and GUNPLA assembling. After the holidays I have lots of stuff to play with.
