Free Cobra mk 4

So I was a preorder for Horizons and got the Black friday paint job for all my ships (which for most is seriously nice looking), but I never got the Cobra mk4 that I was supposed to get from the information I've read about the preorder. Is there something special I am supposed to do to get the ship?

depends what you want to use it fro really doesn't it? great for mining, rare runs, cargo missions and the like. just isnt as good as the mk iii for combat

Perhaps but then if the MkIII is as good at the other jobs then better to stick to the MkIII in my opinion.

Stats-wise, the Mk IV is worse than the Mk III in almost every important category. Internal slots it wins hands-down. There's also the weird sphenomenon where you buy a Mk IV and fall in love with it despite its obvious shortcomings. You will hate the speed, you will curse the turning, you will flail at every overshot landing - and you will still polish and pet and love the wedge-shaped brick. I know, it happened to me. Maybe it's some sort of Thargoid nano-virus intended to get us all into slow ships for easier destruction. Oh...god, it is isn't it?! Stay back, I'm infected!

that was kind of my point.. you buy what suits your needs.

if you like combat, the mk iii is a much better option.

if you like mining, rare runs, doing missions, or even planetary stuff, the mk iv is great.

end of the day though, most folks tend to fly what they like to fly, regardless lol

The Cobra Mk4 is not a good rare runner. The jump range is simply too low. 210t base mass on a class 4 FSD? Way better off with a Type 6, only 155t there.

Assuming you load up the whole load of 56t, the Cobra is down to <19 LY, while the Type 6 is at 23 LY still.
