Seriously, if you find the game dead, stop playing it. Decommission your FC and that's it.

In terms of basic Elite gameplay, nothing changed. If you enjoyed Horizons before EDO launch, then nothing stops you to enjoy Horizons now.
If you dont enjoy Horizons anymore, just take a break until EDO launches on consoles and then decide if EDO is what you want from Elite.

However EDO is not changing the base game - it just ads a new layer in the form of on-foot gameplay - so if you hate the base game now, you will still hate it in EDO.

Edit: and yes, strictly from an EDO perspective, carriers are absolutely useless. EDO only content is best played using Apex or a small ship.

I highly disagree, FC make exploration 50 times better. You can swap out ships, go to places you never could before, and so much more.

The feeling of always having a place to return to. To sell data. Repair. To be able to go on extremely high G planets with no fear.

To be able to explore in numerous different ships. The feeling of progress as you make jump after jump with it and exploring a mini bubble around you before the next jump.


Then in the bubble, having all your ships in one place, is an incredible thing. They are one of the best things FD has added to the game.

But the OP wants no upkeep for carrier because EDO is not yet on Consoles and because reasons.
And i advised the OP to sell their carrier if they dont find Horizons a game to play and come back when EDO hits consoles.
And if the OP only wants EDO content, then a carrier is useless for pure EDO content.

The game is dead on console and we all know why. Players fee abandoned, and have left because we have done everything there is to do and have gone to other games waiting for EDO to come to console.....if it EVER comes...

Meanwhile, the upkeep cost for fleetcarriers is ticking away... As an apology the devs cold do something like, 'we are sorry for abandoning console layers while we our game, FC will have free cost until EDO comes to console.'

It is the LEAST they could do. This way at least we done lose out on credits and carriers while we wait.

Elite for console is far from dead.

The reason it feels dead is because probably 80% of the player base sits in PG and Solo

You've gotta find something else to do in the game. Challenge yourself with FA off stunts or train so you can take down a bigger thargoid. Theres still things to do. Just dont stress over it. Play something else and then come back when you feel like it.
