Thank you for this guide! I have followed it very closely, and I am having communication between the app on my Galaxy S5 and the opentrack software.

However, when I start the opentrack software, and then start the FreePIE app, the "Game Data" reporting in the Opentrack software is all over the place. The TX, TY, and TZ show 0 for the first reading, but the figures to the right of "yaw", jumps between 0 and -179, the figure to the right of "Pitch" jumps all over the place, and the figure to the right of "roll" jumps between 0 and -45. All of this is with my phone sitting on my table without moving. It is a brand new Galaxy S5 as well.

I configured my Center key to be CTRL-ALT-C . When I push this, it does nothing to change those figures.

When I load up the game, it is certainly reading the figures from Opentrack, but because these level figures are jumping around so much, the view is jumping all over the place in-game. In the game, hitting CTRL-ALT-C does nothing as well.

Man, that headband + scrunchy solution is pretty epic ;-) With a daughter, I have all the supplies needed, ha!

My wife already made fun of me for taping an EDTracker onto my headset, that I mounted in one of the cardboard boxes a component came in. She'd have a field day with this.

Anyway, just got a DK2, so now I don't have to see her roll her eyes at me... Actually, she thought it was pretty neat.

I need to find a better head band. The one I got moves too much. Would like to come up with a better way to strap it to my head.

thanks for posting this, i've been looking for an interim solution while i wait for the xmas season to be over so the EDTracker guys can get round to my order :)

after getting a jittery result on my ageing personal phone i tried my much younger work phone and it all smoothed out nicely.

after lots of low level flying in the 'roid fields i then had a nerdgasm when i noticed my avatar pressing the weapons safe button and the boost button!

I tried this and it actually works pretty good. The only issue I have is it wants to twist to the right when I look up and I have not figured out how to correct this.
Any Ideas?

ran my battery down to 17% last night in my first elite binge (combat demo for me previously)

i'd turn it off in station, but i quickly got to the point where i felt out of touch with the game if i was flying and had forgotten to turn it on. from docking to combat i used it a lot

thanks again for bringing this to the community, it's a perfect first step while i sort out a more permanent solution :)

Thank you for this great adaptation.
I have a problem :
Opentracker receives well data, but nothing is transmitted to the game . Should we adjust something on the game ?

Hey, great stuff. I'd looove to try it, but after going through the steps (using those very files) Opentracker doesn't receive a thing from my phone.
I *can* ping my phone and have another app sending data over UDP so it can't quite be a connection problem. Any ideas?
(what should I see in FreePIE's debugging? The phone has a gyro but FreePIE only shows orientation data?)

Only orientation data you need. On debug you should see orientation, but debug is not needed, it can be turned off.
Chceck your firewall on PC and phone. Also try to turn off antivirus software - it can block udp data.

Ah, thanks a lot. Was a firewall thing indeed. It works now although only kinda :(
Well, Plan C: IR Leds and the spare PSEye :)

Thank you for this.
While the tracking is not on par with my TrackIR, it`s actually quite acceptable, and i did recommend it to my friends.
Hope my Rift finally arrives tomorrow or on Christmas eve, im so excited :)
