This beautiful blue planet is home to valuable rare commoddities and hosts much CMDR traffic. Thousands of ships come here every day. Its ruling station is named for George Lucas - director of the film "THX 1138" - a documentary which depicts the daily horrors of life under a totalitarian consumer society. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066434/

In July 3301 Leesti became a member of the Alliance of Independent Systems under Prime Minister Edmund Mahon. However this has brought death and mayhem as the Feds and Imperials put Alliance Enforcers through the meatgrinder.

The killing has the effect of nuking the influence of whoever is ruling and Leesti went through months of volatile chaos as the goverments changed almost daily.
Finally in November 3301 an influence cap was introduced, and the BGS effects of underming were de-coupled from PowerPlay Control Systems. Unfortunately the government of the day was the hated Justice Party of Leesti, who stormed into power on a platform of "law & order and stability".

'Stability' Leesti has had. But alas poor Leesti!

With every rares trade raising the influence of the ruling party, there was no stopping JPL - "the Justice Party"; and they became not a 'Benevolent Dicatatorship' as they had promised; but a cruel totalitarian state: Mind Locks, Nerve Stapling, Standardised Consumption, Involuntary Euthanasia, 'Reconditioning' and Torture.

What can one CMDR do against the headwinds of the rares trade?

It would take an large organisation who really know the Background simulation. With good friends in powerful groups. To work tirelessly to build the influence of: Independent Leesti For Equality.
And when the time is ripe, to trigger a Civil War to re-take control of George Lucas station for the Alliance.
That Time Is Now! And that organisation is the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps. The AEDC.

And with the help of all the Alliance groups we can Free Leesti, and return her to Peace, Prosperity and Equality.
Alliance CMDRs from every Group have been pouring into Leesti: To join the Combat Zones and choose the side of Independent Leesti For Equality.

Aide Elias Hampton of ILFE is quoted: "Every hollow square has made by heart leap for joy, and more are joining by the hour. Please join us in overthrowing JPL."

Day 1 of Civil War: 5.1% swing. ILFE leads JPL by 2.3%
Well done CMDRs of the Alliance! Great to see everyone there.

Day 2 of Civil War: 4.5% Swing. ILFE leads JPL by 6.8%
AEDC reports more than 100 Million Cr in Combat bonds submitted in CW to date. All groups going hard. Open is busy with hollow squares fighting for ILFE.
Personal note 1: made Combat Rank Expert last night.
Personal note 2: four rebuys since sunday. Ratio of combat bonds to Insurance Costs 1:3. "Expert" my yellow Asp!

Day 3 of Civil War. Swing 4.4%. ILFE leads JPL by 11.2%
This morning I was greeted by the new Alliance Traffic Controller!
This war should last one more day. One more day and then peace will reign.

Day 4 of Civil War. Swing 4.5%. ILFE leads JPL by 15.7%
War is over. Boom has begun.

I am still trying to get the blood and grease from under my nails, after days and days of utter mayhem and slaughter. We gave them warning: leave your posts if you don't care to die for a lost cause. Those that met my beam and multicannons were the diehard core of the dictatorship (in any brutal regime, there are always some that benefit....), and while I am sorry for their families and the losses suffered, at least their children will breathe free air, and can make a new start...

The effort has been brutal. But nothing compared to the suffering of the people of Leesti living under the JPL jackboot for almost a year to the day. Instead, Leesti is celebrating something else.... :)

Don't forget triggering the war.

We ran missions until Elias Hampton couldn't hand out any more.
That graph of rising green in the lead up to the war was against the impossible headwinds of the rares trade.

And even before that there was a period of investigation, disocvery, testing, proof of concept, and finally commitment. Without which we could have had ten times the manpower and still not be able to achieve the triggering of the Civil War in Leesti. We tried several times to move influence there before a way was discovered. This has been a major project that has had the involvement of so many of the Alliance. On Sunday when the war broke out, open was just crazy with Alliance CMDRs. I won't list the ones I saw personally, but it seemed like everyone was there. There is still one more day of the Civil War to run, I encourage all Alliance CMDRs to go and get some shots on JPL ships and be part of this momentous change.

I believe that Independent Leesti For Equality will be secure in government.
May they reign in peace and prosperity with dignity and human rights.

I was watching from sidelines and would not get that wonderful medal I heard all about. But still I was very happy regarding how things went. This is example how self organization should work. When players band together, host a wonderful event and it goes off with a bang. It was wonderful, it was fun and today we made another chapter of ED lore!

I would like to say that my contribution so far has been heroic, but in truth the speed at which I am able to return to George Lucas for repair is the only part of my performance worthy of note.

Rares Trade should be pretty good again shortly.
Leesti Evil Juice, and Azure Milk are still available under Independent Leesti For Equality.

In fact there is a Boom pending, which should increase allocations and availability. When the Civil War finishes and the CW Recovery period expires, ILFE will transition to a Boom state.
We encourage everyone to buy up big, as this will help ILFE consolodate their economic base and kickstart a period of rebuilding and renewal in Leesti.

So Leesti is finally again under Alliance and ILFE control? Good, took you guys and gals from the Alliance quite long.

Congratulations for that victory.

Finally I can use Leesti again as my preferred Alliance system.

I would really like to help out, but my Cutter is filled with crap for the engineers and I don't wanna chance loosing it.
And I can't switch into any other ship either, as you probably know.

It certainly did! A high population high traffic system with 2 rare goods and and engineer is a huge bgs challenge. It took us over a month of mission running, BH and influence management throughout the area to be successful. The wider alliance fleet with contingents from many groups also gathered to fight in the final cw.
