OP, FYI, i tested the log of mechanics some time back for another thread, pulling the cord out of the router had my ship sitting there 45 seconds following my last command input. i think hitting the power key may have a similar result.

Always nice to see another kind hearted Cmdr out there, I dropped 100 tons of gold a few nights ago to help some new Cmdr's that had lost credits to some unfortunate events, the spirit in this game is awesome, I get a good feeling every time I play it and there's very few games you can say that about :)

Well done Frontier ... You guys rock :)

For this specific case: If someone gives you cargo for free there is no need to attack him. Attacking him would actually kill piracy.

In general: if someone doesn't want to get pirated he should just switch to solo or a pve group. Turning power off / unplugging cable is just stupid if you could have it that easy.

Well, somebody could want a bigger share. Not me, but if i was a pirate, i'd be all for big juicy target like this, and the whole possibility of just unplugging when in danger is a failure of game design and kills the piracy.

I remember a codename weapons dealer in freelancer discovery who was always sitting in big enough ship to avoid instant destruction near docking point of station in the capital system of Liberty. He was pretty safe from pirating attempts but sometimes people would get him. I know of one success in some 4 years (because it was me, he managed to shoot the station himself when i pirated him, thus making it hostile), and it was thrilling. But if he could unplug... well...

In my opinion unplugging when in danger is not a failure of game design but a failure of the player. As I said he should just play PVE.

We can't really rely on players "behaving" or else it may turn into children playground where somebody would be like "i shot you! you're dead" and somebody else would be "no i evaded!".

Anyway. Being able to switch between pve and pvp on the whim is also a failure of game design to me. I mean, somebody can trade a lot in pve safe from pirates and then buy a big combat ship, go pvp and start pirating traders who accept the risks. Not really fair.
