Newcomer / Intro free mouse navigation?

What do you mean by free mouse navigation?: mouse control of a ship, or navigating using the Galaxy map?

You can freely look around in the cockpit, you can probably map it to your mouse. The reason the pause doesn't work is probably because you are in the open world already -> time never stops. Pause only works for tutorials and such i believe. And if you feel that 'nothing' works ingame, feel free to leave and stop playing the game. :)
