Free P&P on htc vive

Good catch - nice to see prices coming down already. I went to the official HTC Vive site to double check price comparison and was surprised to see new order shipping date had moved forward from June to May - so they seem to be on top of pre orders.

That could just be a cancellation - they seem to operate a bizarre system of batching up orders into dispatch slots, rather than a simple linear list. Pre-orders do seem to be shipping at a good rate, but not completely reliably. If your card transaction fails to get through, you risk loosing your order slot completely for example...

Yes I read that too, but I believe those slots tended to go in a couple of minutes (also think HTC have since said they fixed that). I heard about a month ago that if you keep refreshing the order page that sometimes an earlier slot comes up. So just out of interest I ran a process that automatically refreshed and detected an earlier date - for 24hrs with a negative result. Just rechecked the HTC Vive site a few hours later and still says May.

If the date gets closer, it's either due to a loss of orders from others cancelling or increase in production. I can't see how refreshing the screen spurs their order dept.

Interestingly the postage on my Vive was only £6 and I received mine within 2 weeks of ordering (purchased on 1st Aril) from the official site. I understand plenty of people have ad issues but my experience was actually pretty good, if they could just sort out their communications it would have been perfect.
