Free Placement

How do I "unsnap" an object from the grid while working in the same building? The only way I have figured out so far is to start a new building, place my object where I want it, and then go back to editing the original building.

At the moment, that is the only way - start a new building. It will probably change before release.

Ok, for example, Sillvarret placed wooden beams onto his asian buildings, or order to do that, place a wall down anywhere, exit the building tool completely and then click on it, ctrl and D to duplicate, it should now let you play objects anywhere.

Yes, the problem with that is you can only do it with ONE piece I believe (never done it myself) but I think this is some sort of "bug" should we say and if I were you, keep away from this method, it will probably change/fixed in a future update.

Currently I can do it, if I click "done" on the current building and then just select a new piece (or the same one), the game considers it a new building so I can place it anywhere, even clip it into existing objects.

What I would like to see is a simple "snap to grid" button, so I can easily switch between grid or free placement, without going through all those extra clicks.

I'm pretty sure one can work with multiple grids building just one structure just fine. all is needed for it to become more functional is the ability to select and merge multiple structures. Someone knows if that's even planned?
