Engineers FREEDOM!

Lost my Python to a Dangerous Anaconda in Threat 0 USS- and with it a stack of commodity materials I couldn't sell or part with. The rebuy was 10 Million and worth every penny to be free of that damned burden.

I immediately flew to a HazRes in the dark to celebrate!
Got a very nice screenie below.

Not bothering to find the matching impossible-to-locate materials to use up those commodities in cargo - the best relief in the game. I can hunt in a HazRes again, with no worries.

Maybe the best way to get the Engineer upgrades is to get the other stuff first, and the commodities last - at least till they implement some storage. Meantime I am one happy Pilot! [up]

Have to admit I was just hoarding reward commodities for no reason, then I started applying method to the madness. I only need Magnetic emitter & coils & Energy Grid assembly's to upgrade my main fleets FSD drives, that is all I focus on. Mission rewards are plentiful, I'll focus on the other commodities when I actually need them.

I actually haven't pinned a blueprint and haven't decided what I want upgraded at all.

I am just collecting stuff as I am running into it. No plan. I do missions, hunt in RES, visit every USS I find, etc... When I am full I just do a tour around the Engineers I know and it's like Christmas.
"Oh, I can do this!" "Oh, I should try that!" "Oh, I don't need that but these mats aren't good for anything else, so why the hell not"

Basically most of my Clipper's modules and weapons are at least lvl 2 modded without me ever even trying to focus on something. I think that speaks volumes about balance.

Now of course I will have to plan ahead once I'll want higher ranks, but so far? Awesome.

think everyone will eventually realize, not to collect commodities for engineers until you have all the materials in place. Then go hunting to order.

And some of them you can just buy, for example Magnetic emitter coils are available at least in Nanditi system, it is by far easier to buy them when needed, then to get them from missions and haul them around.

You can buy:
Energy Grid Assembly - available at Industrial/Refinery systems near Stafkarl, for example 40 Ceti
Magnetic Emitter Coil - "blabla" near Leesti, for example Chemaluk

Good luck
