Ships Freight ship 400tons/35LY range/able to defend herself/possible?

I am trying to see if it's possible to have a freight hauler that can jump 35 LY fully laden and carry 400 tons of cargo and defend herself. I tried configuring my Conda but I had to lighten up the modules to get to the 35 LY so she was vulnerable to other Condas. I would appreciate any advice an experienced freight hauler could offer so I could save a lot of time and credits. thanks

Or you might try this Cargo Cutter setup. Fuel scoop and Guardian frame shift booster can be removed for additional cargo space.

Why do you need a Fuel Scoop? Those builds have a 160+ Ly range fully laden and that is enough for hauling inside the Bubble.

No insult meant. No fuel scoop when working in the bubble is brilliant. It had never occurred to me. I was thinking about cargo deliveries for Community Goals where you sometimes have to travel several hundred light years to get to the system where the deliveries are needed. I took your advice and built a cargo Cutter very similar to the examples you provided. Thanks for the advice.
