Commander _Joe's talking Allies thingamajig.
Many commanders may well have heard of an old Westwood game called Red Alert 2. If you have that game then you can copy the taunts folder to your Voiceattack HCSPACK folder.
In the Voiceattack editing screen copy then edit a Random sounds item, give it 12 (11 if no Yuri add on) condition blocks & change random maximum to 12. Copy this and rename accordingly so you have 4 new RS commands. Change them to RS - attack, RS - destroy target, RS - distract target, RS get him.
Edit each new RS entry Play soundfile command direct each to the taunts folder.
TAUAM02, TAUBR02 etc are your "grr / I will attack / I'm going in." commands.
TAUAM08, TAUBR08 etc are your "i will destroy them / gonna finish them off" commands.
TAUAM04, TAUBR04 etc are your "you distract the target, me and the boys are going to try something" commands.
and best of all....
TAUAM06, TAUBR06 etc are your "Moooo hahahah" (evil laughter) commands.
Add some new commands to fire of the randoms and you get any one of the 12 accented voices answering like this.
You say....
"Get him"
Example NPC replies "Yippie ki yay, I'm going in."
"Kill him"
Example NPC replies "I will swat him like a fly."
"distract him"
Example NPC replies "Strike him, I have something clever in mind."
"Got him"
Example NPC replies "Moo hah hah ha" ( reminds me of Mr Jolly lives next door or Austin Powers)
Well issuing these commands has no effect on the game, but it does make it feel like your wingmen NPCs have character.
For my next comedy VA project.
Having trouble in deciding which bulletin board mission to take whilst in empire space?
Why not consult our friendly employment advisors Darth Vader & Darth Sidious.
"My lords, should I take the bounty hunting mission & kill pirates?"
Sidious reply "Kill them, wipe them out...All of them."
or Vader "No Disintegrations, I want them alive."
"My lords, should I take the retrieve the rebel transmissions mission?"
"I want those plans"
etc etc
Fly safe commanders
