Frequent crashes.

Hi, new here. Bought the game a few weeks ago and unfortunately for me it's unplayable because my system crashes a lot. I get occasional crashes in other games. Destiny 2 used to crash lots before I changed my PSU, now it is pretty stable. I guess I get one crash a fortnight or so. Sadly Elite crashes every 5 or ten minutes. There are no logs in event viewer or blue screen logs or anything I can use to trace the problem. It doesn't happen with any specific event, it mostly happens in open play but has occasionally happened in a hanger. It's always the same the screen goes black and the PC powers down and reboots. The only event is a critical event saying "the last shutdown was unexpected".

I'll try it. I always thought it had something to do with the memory but all my tweaking has never made the problem better in the past.

I would shave a bit 50hz of the core clock maybe to to try and attain a stability
maybe try a clean install of the latest gpu driver or even slightly older one as some of the latest drivers can be just optimized for the very latest game releases
and give this current build no real benefit anyways
the fact other games crash too is never good sign maybe try a stress test like fire strike, fur mark etc

Thanks. I'll try it. Actually taking the XMP off the memory and running it at 1066 instead of 3200 has made a big difference so I've ordered so new RAM sticks. I've always thought it was the memory, the current RAM came with the MB and CPU as part of an "upgrade kit" deal but the RAM isn't listed by the MB manufacturer as compatible so I'm suspicious there's a problem there. The problem always seems to be worse if I put freesync on too. You're probably right that it's the system rather than the game but it is strange that this game triggers the problem much more frequently than anything else.

ya it seems that is the case, it is very sensitive to tdr type issues acording to others posting in the forum previously with some mobo supercard combos
