Frequent Unrecoverable Camera Bug

I'm playing in Odyssey. Every few hours, my camera bugs out and decouples from my character, and I watch my ship sail off into space without me. My escape-key UI is also invisible, so I can't close the game normally.

It's not Ctrl+Alt+Space. When I use that, my HUD disappears, telling me the shortcut worked, but the bug is still in effect, and I can't free-roam with the camera in this mode while bugged. Using the shortcut again brings back my HUD, but I'm still stuck where my camera bugged out.

This happen to anyone else? Anyway I can fix it without closing the game through Task Manager? I feel like it's going get my account flagged for combat logging or something eventually, but I have no idea what else to do. I tried verifying game files already, and it doesn't seem to happen in Horizons, but I want to play in Odyssey.

Yep. I normally never touch the camera mode.

my almost completely unfounded bet your using an amd card and have found a related driver bug
I would try deleting the gpuworktable.xml just to ensure something aint stuck in the cache
or maybe try a slightly older\newer driver than current to test for cause an effect

I'll give that file deletion a try. Though, I'm currently using the following with the latest graphics driver (527.56) from GeForce Experience on Windows 10:
Intel i9 9900k
Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti
4x8 GB G.Skill 3200 Mhz

Looks like deleting the xml didn't make any difference. It seems to be less a graphical-related bug and more to do with the camera logic. It would be nice if I could at least find a way to re-attach it to my character without terminating the game process.

Yeah, that's freaky. I've never seen that bug, nor seen it posted, before.

use the same driver no problems like that here. and i constantly on free Cam , usually to my ships shields dismise

Not yet; was waiting to see if it was a known issue first, as that's usually the case with something that happens this repeatably. Though, from the looks of this thread, seems like I'm the sole owner of this one.

I was actually on a previous driver with this issue already, and I recently updated. Looks like the version wasn't the ticket.

Everyone in our household has experienced this bug, every few hours, whether you access cam mode or not. Thought it was the graphics driver, updated through 2 driver updates and still experiencing it.
Edit: Still happening at least once a day.

Same here has happened to me about 3 times in the last two days.. once mid dog fight thankfully i had a buddy with me so i could relog real fast

Edit: Using 3060ti w/ latest nvidia drivers.

Since it happens so often, I memorized how to close the game legitimately.

Esc -> Up Arrow -> Spacebar -> Right Arrow -> Spacebar.

If that doesn't seem to do anything, it's likely because the game is making you wait for a timer, so keep hitting spacebar for around 15 seconds.

I also experience this issue which seems to happen after about 6 hours of the game running. This is using an RTX 4090 running 4k Ultra settings. Any suggestions on how to resolve this yet?

sounds like a software related slow mem leak that eventually results in the camera bug
i log right out quite often so maybe that's why i avoid it
@ least every 6 hrs is manageable ( if you play far longer sessions rethink your life)
