Fresh start desire?

I'm just asking out of curiosity. After watching the Station Tour video, do you have the desire to start the game from scratch with a new character, progress gradually from the smallest ship to the largest and become the most feared Elite pirate or Bounty Hunter in the galaxy? Or is it just a case for me?

I never delete my current character, but I hold my right hand with my left hand to avoid getting a new account. 😣

I just got a second account.

Actually starting without a ship was DOBE's original idea, and now you could start the game as original indented.

How to do a soft reset if you want to try Odyssey from a "fresh" start with no ship

Before Odyssey releases, sell all your ships, or better yet outfit them as expensively as possible, fly away from the station, and then self destruct. Respawn with the default Sidewinder and repeat until you have the default sidewinder and no money.

You can also wait until Odyssey releases and do this if you prefer.

The hard part will be to get rid of the default Sidewinder if you are looking to not even having a ship. I might have to wait and see what happens once Odyssey releases for this bit.

This way you keep all your progress but lose all your ships and all your money.

RP as a bankrupt bum, i like it!

I do get the impulse to start over again. But then again, I just got into the Corvette and recently unlocked the last engineer in the bubble. Not sure I want to do that again already. Maybe with next DLC in a few years.

I have 4 accounts, 1 of which is still unused. I was going to use it for a ship-free playthrough :)

I'm actually considering this. I might do that stage 4 where there's no consequence if it turns out to be a crap idea.

Not sure how long the Alpha will actually last, but it could be fun playing without a ship for a while relying entirely on shuttles. I might give that a try.

I'd imagine, if fresh start would be something like in the Rust, without any tools and even clothes. And to have clue, on what planet are you a lonely loafer, you must to learn a couple of constellations on the night sky and then you can call help....To be taken on some Station to do cheap work.

That actually a good idea. Yes, you can reduce yourself to having no ship or money, but keep your ranks, etc...
Maybe you could also get rid of all your cash by buying an Anaconda, filling it with cargo racks, buy a bazillion tons of LTD's then do a self destruct.

It shouldn't be too difficult to start anew whilst still keeping your progress. It would be cool to have to start again literally from the 'ground' up.

Saying that though, I don't mind going through the grind again, I quite like it. Maybe a completely new start would be cool. You start in the newbie area as normal, but you don't use the free sidewinder. You just get a taxi out of the area, so you can't go back, and start from complete scratch on some planetary base somewhere with nothing but the clothes you are wearing and 1000cr (minus taxi fees).

Sod it, you know what, that's what I'm gonna do. It will feel good to have to scrape together enough cash to buy my own first ship and take it for a test flight.
I might even get a taxi to my home base in my current home system and carry on there with the BGS and the faction I adopted. It certainly wouldn't take long to regain my reputation with them.

Hmmm lots of ideas now 🤔🤔🤔

i'm not going to do a clear save again any time soon, after I had done it when Horizons launched. But a second save slot would be great for things like this.

No, I have spent 6w in the current account and the fleet now is not bad (with IC, Vette and conda) I think and decent amount of money which I need not worry about rebuy.
