I cannot fathom for the life of me why someone would make the decision to reorder the friends list in "distance from me" order rather than alphabetical order and not allow sorting by alphabetical as an option.
I'm sure it works fine for a small friends list but scrolling through the whole list trying to find someone in particular is now pretty much random.
Please revert to alphabetical with an option to sort by distance if preferred.
