Friend logged into his account on my computer = Reinstall?

So a buddy of mine came over this weekend to check out what it is like playing ED in the DK2 Oculus Rift. We did what any sensible person would do, he logged into HIS account on the ED login screen stead of me (so he can fly with his own account and ships)... but after logging in, the play button on the bottom left is now "install".

So we said screw it, and he just played logged in as me. Is this normal? Didn't seem right to us.

You are the only person I know of who has a friend playing who lives close enough to try that
I wonder if has something to do with identification of the pilot when you go online with the whole P2P thing? Computer geniuses out thave any ideas?

I think its going to be down to the account being checked at the server v's the local install folder verion/keys, as they would not match it went off to install the game, there might be a way around it. Also woudl cuase the same problem I guess for anyoen who bought two copies for multiple players in the same house?
