Apart from being Mission targets for what seems infiltration of destructive Missions, I pondered about some questions and ideas for "friendly use" of Colonies.
Currently, even when Allied to the Faction controlling it, a Colony has a standard Trespass zone - meaning even if I'm their "local hero" they'll fine me/shoot me for trespassing.
So despite being "same team" and the Faction being "my guys", nothing I could do with a Colony if I mean no harm to them.
How about :
- having an ability to request entry (granted if Friendly/Allied or having an active Mission for it) and at least "dock" an SRV, either by being able to enter a building or plain moving onto some basic small "Arrival Pad" on the ground, a parking space
-> enables Colonies to become Mission destinations for Courier or Minimal (max. 2 tons) Cargo Missions, or hand in Bounty/Combat Bonds/Exploration Data
-> they could have special Commodities or a special Black Market
-> enables Faction Influence support at Colonies (currently impossible)
-> could also afford some local Missions, i.e. defend the Colony against attackers (SRV based combat or Ship based combat), the reverse of the attack/infiltration Missions we currently have, the "other side" so to speak
I'd like something like that alot, as it opens up more opportunities in Systems/on Planets that have Colonies.
And it would remove the somewhat awkward implied hostility of even 100% Allied Colonies (permanent Trespass zone)...
Since early Beta, I was kind of looking to drive in an SRV within such Ground Installations, approach a certain control building, request entry, see a hangar door opening and drive in to "dock" and then access Information/Station/Colony functional Menues similar to Stations etc.
