Since we were in the game at the same time we decided to fly together properly. We spent some time jumping between stars to find good planets to land on.
Went to an ice world in LHS 6282 but it was in full sunlight and I ended up with snow-blindness. That particular terrain looks much better out of the sun's glare. Eventually we got to a rocky planet in 45 C Bootis and did some low flying at high speed. Then landed and drove the SRVs. Low G planet = fun when boosting. We eventually descended into a massive crater. It was pitch-black so we used the vehicle floodlights. We'd been bouncing around recklessly for maybe 15 minutes and my friend was some distance ahead of me. As he approached the very bottom of the crater I heard a loud bang and saw a flash of light. His SRV exploded. I laughed. I knew right away he'd not taken any notice of his SRV hull warnings. I on the other hand was already driving like an old man as my hull was about 46%. I called my ship and watched it land not far from me. Boarded it and then friend and I did some low flying.
The planet wasn't particularly interesting but we just wanted to try see how Horizons plays with a friend and it worked very well.
