NASA scientists working on a project called EmDrive have accidentally stumbled upon something that will send science fiction junkies into a frenzy. The possibility of a real-life warp drive has been placed on the table thanks to readings that indicate the EmDrive’s resonance chamber sent beams traveling faster than the speed of light, which would be considered warp speed.

Ahem.... "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs." -- Carl Sagan.

Excuse me for the skeptism. There have been several faster than speed of light claims before. Each has since been either flat out debunked or proved to be honest measurement error, or within error margin of instruments.

Well, at least I am not the only one hearing "Friendship Drive Charging" instead of Frameshift Drive Charging.

Fascinating.

Even if the distortion of spacetime isn't real or is too small for FTL, the concept of an usable propulsion system that doesn't need propellant is fantastic enough in itself. More so if it really can be put to use.
