When my character dies or I hit Elite in something I like to clear save. Today a sucidal NPC interdicted me whilst I was fuel scooping a white dwarf! It did not end well for either of us!
Having just come to terms with the new mining mechanics I set out to build a simple mining cobra to go opal hunting in.
A few passenger missions and data delivery missions to some very far star ports gave me money in around an hour to outfit the cobra for deep core mining. There wasn’t much room inside but I managed to come back with 12 tonnes x 2 trips and made around six million in around 45 mins (selling at a local station).
I then upgraded to an asp scout with 32 tonnes cargo available. Another 45 mins later and I sold a full hold of opals and diamonds to the tune of 30+ million credits.
I love this new gold rush! We haven’t had one like this in a long time! Will it be nerfed? I hope not, though I made a lot of money quickly (starting from zero) there was a lot of knowledge that went into my gameplay and the beginner certainly couldnt do the same anywhere near as quickly.
Next I’ll upgrade to an asp, then a Krait, then time to do some re-engineering...
