From Hatchling to adult?

Hi Guys

I have watched a lot of the early game footage and am really exited! So the following jumped to mind:

I was wondering if there would be any growth mechanic in the game as it approaches the final stages of development where you would be able to raise your dinos from a hatch ling to a full grown adult? It would give the animals in the park an amazing personal feel, rather than just popping them out fully grown. It would be great to have infant pens where you could raise them and keep an eye on their vitals as they mature. The closer the Dino you are trying to breed gets to 100% from the fossils and embers you collect, the higher the survival rate will be and the less meds and care needs to be given till it reaches adulthood. That would also give the naming option for the dinos a bit more meaning. Also losing an animal that you raised from a hatch ling to a T-Rex that escaped, would really enrich the game play and urgency to get the asset contained asap. Imagine an escaped Spinosaurus or T-Rex heading to the Infant pens after it breaks out! Chaos[smile].

I am really looking forward to the game! So much that I have already purchased the deluxe edition.

This is just something I think that would add great value to the game.

Keep up the good work!

Frontier has already stated, and there have been a number of threads on here and reddit, there is NOT going to be any baby dinos of any sorts in the game.

I don't really know how much of the game was actually shown in the youtube clips. So was hoping that mechanic might still be possible or maybe it is in the game already and just not shown. But eh... It would be great regardless.

For this to work as a gameplay mechanic, think about about all the work they would need to do. They need to design and implement about 3 (hatchling, infant, teenager) more models for EACH dinosaur.

That means for each animal there are 4 different models. Why not just have 4 times the number of dinosaurs instead?

True.

Assuming there isn't a resource limitation concern here, I think the concept of bringing up a baby dinosaur really worth a shot - it provides an intimate relation between the players and the digital creatures. The more emotionally involved we are, the more we love the game.

Personally, I have a tons of other ideas to make a 'quality' dinosaur (relevant to park management) but I still think this concept is well-deserved to be mentioned here.

Absolutely it does. The idea of raising a dinosaur from hatchling to adult would add to gameplay in a massively way.

It's just a design compromise unfortunately I guess!

maybe, if you already play games with a population management..

there are often two sizes .. young size and adult size.. (pregnant female) and the transition to adulthood does this instantly to avoid the problems and complexity of the animations.

never babies (eggs maybe).. they do not work so there is not much interest.. but there could be an incubator building .. as there may be a museum building or a movie building.. so the interior is not visible but they produce income, they are attractions covered.

by cons normally as I wrote in another thread .. the dinosaurs are sterilized for safety (according to the movies) .. so natural reproduction can not exist in this game..

except as a disaster or the overpopulation of its dangerous animals would really become a problem but I do not know if this kind of disaster was thought for this game.

it would be necessary to include the dinosaur hunt also to compensate for overcrowding, it is perhaps too complex or maybe we have a surprise lol.

it would haven been cool to see inside the Hammond creation lab on your Island which breed Hatch's and when is the exact time it's let out into it's enclosure to acclimate with it new Pack or herd.
