So is there any possible way I can get Frontier running under 64-bit Windows 7...?

Steve is correct DOSBox would do it. I would add to Steve's recommendation D-Fend Reloaded. It gives an easy to configure front end for DOSBox and can be found here

I have that and FFEWIN26 (First Encounters for Windows) with the CD Version Data

Both work fine on Win7 64bit

I also use WinUAE (Amiga Emulator for Windows) and my original (transferred) Frontier: Elite II and save game

search for ffewin on google... i just d/l'd version 2.8

i now have a complete version of Frontier First Encounters, which has all of the content from the CD version, plus a fixed version for windows and a gl version for windows!

if people here were on ok with it i could upload to a host for all to have, but i wouldn't unless given permission

it is a 202mb download!

If you go to Steves frontierastro site. It has lots of links as well as syncromeshes site with a excellent repackaged version of ffe3d.
