Frontier avoided answering the "can we walk inside our ships" question

which to me is a more important question than base building. To be honest, I don't give a rats behind about base building. There are plenty of games that do that already (NMS for instance).
Now that we know that base building will not be a thing in Odyssey (thanks god for that) one can only ask, why did Frontier avoid answering the real question - can we walk inside and interact with the interior of our ships???

I see two reasons for that. They avoided the question because they plan on revealing that in a future trailer or they are too embarrassed to admit that the 2nd most requested feature will not make it to Odyssey. I really hope it's not the latter , but only time will tale.

IMO, Odyssey without walking inside the ship and interacting with the interior is a half baked DLC.

I'm also hoping for the "plan on revealing that later" option.

I've punted CMDR Buur's video on the forum already today but it's a good one I think, he mentions that the charity stream at the start of Feb included a new piece of concept art that was of the inside of an unnamed ship, which I'd forgotten about. Might mean nothing but it was odd at the time and pointed to in ship legs.

The description of the game content in Steam and the official forum post seems quite clear in that no ship interiors at all are mentioned. Only planetary surfaces and bases there on.
as new content is revealed , the description in Steam will be updated . For instance, when they initially posted Odyssey on Steam, it had VR support. It has been removed from Steam since recently.

Frontier will never reply to the OP's question if they have no plans to introduce walkaround flightdecks. So their silence says it all. They have basically become crap at listening to what the playerbase wants, crap at development (just rendering a semi opaque colour sphere around a moon and then calling it 'atmosphere'), and crap at fulfilling their remaining promises. All we get is ill thought out gameplay that requires more and more grind. It seems the only thing Frontier wants to do is promote an ever increasing amount of paint jobs. All they want to listen to is the sound of Ca-Ching! Ca-Ching! The forum Moderators are also averse to free speech on here. I expect the initial question raised by the OP and this subsequent thread will be locked quite soon to avoid further harsh feedback.

Umm, no - vr was missing from steam from the start - which is why ppl were asking

Errm no, did you miss where people asked about vr and got an answer.

No VR, No Bases, No in ship walking... I am getting more of what's NOT in this then I am in it.

I mean, Fly to billions of planets, land, walk around, shoot rocks... What is this? No Man's Sky 1.0 all over again?

I'm afraid some people almost want all space games to merge into an identikit version of each other. They won't accept that different games can have different takes. So all space games must have space legs, must have FPS, must have base building. Next it will be organisation guilds with inter clan warfare.

So to keep up with the joneses instead of Elite players getting this

Hey that's Cosmo on last pic shooting at white knights

To break this down, and I'm not picking on you specifically, just the items listed:

No VR - not yet. It's longer than SoonTM, so it could be quite a while, but I'd rather they recruited someone to handle this specifically than have a team bunch of devs try messing about with the code to try and get it to work and then break something else. That might give me time to save up for my Apple iGlasses :geek:

No Bases - there wasn't a lot of pressure to have these, was there? We are about to receive FCs which are a kind of nod in that direction, but without people in the bases moving around, bases would seem very soul-less. (I'm still hoping we get to see some life put into the FCs). But I have to admit, I was hoping to see more SRV development around bases with planetary mining, and unless it's called something else (like Planetary Mining?) those hopes are dashed.

No in-ship Walking - We don't know that yet. We've seen people standing in ships in earlier trailers, and we've seen someone get in a lift (elevator) on the back of his ship. So the signs are positive. Also, noticeably, we have not been told "no walking inside ships," whereas we have been told "no bases" and "no VR."

They have to save more stuff for trailer teases; they can't give it all away in Q&As after the first day ! :D The hype train has to be fed gradually, we have a long way to go ! 🚃🚋🚃🚃🚃🚋

I feel like it will be walking in the bridge/cockpit, but get a fade to black transition to your ships ramp when activating the door in the back. Technically you'd be walking in your ship :/
Sincerely hope I'm wrong.
