General / Off-Topic Frontier caused England to bomb out of the world Cup :D

I don't know if anybody else realised by Frontier are to blame for England being dumped out the world cup.

England where just about to enter the pitch to play Urugany when all the players phones beeped informing them that a new email with Newsletter 28 had arrived. They didn't have time to read the email. But they kept thinking about what was being announced for the whole first half, thus not playing too well.

In the half time break they all read the email and realised that PB2 was being dropped Tuesday so they all agreed lose the match so that they can Play PB2 on Tuesday. :D

I reckon they'd all be griefers ;)

I'm sure your right ...rugby players always forget to put their skid lids on to stop their poor heads from being smashed in .......must be all the knees and elbows crashing into theirs heads that they simple forget;)

You show me one rugby player that's 6'5" tall, 250 pounds, and can run 40 meters in 4.5 seconds or less.

You know what he would do? Get paid 15 million dollars a year in the NFL and not play rugby. That's what. :)

(I used to play rugby as a left break. It was nothing as hard as playing football.)

You wouldn't want one of those guys playing rugby. They would kill your team.

Not disagreeing with that brother ....the 12 pies and 14 pints tend to take the edge off the quickness in the legs

p.s don't take this too serious mate ..its only a bit of banter

Jonah Lomu

The majority of current international rugby backs / wingers. The game has moved on to one where the backs are as big as the forwards and still as fast as before.

Not dissing American Football in any shape or form but an 80 minute rugby game where passages of play can last several minutes at a time where players knock lumps out of each other must be equally if not more physically demanding than AF.

Anyway, at least both sports don't have cheating players that trip over a blade of grass and roll around on the floor in excruciating agony, then all of a sudden leap to their feet to carry on playing :D

Ain't that the truth?

Our guys complain about calls/no calls, but they never flop. NEVER FLOP!

You'd be run out of the game if you writhed around on the ground like these guys I'm seeing in the World Cup. (I like soccer, but geez.)

He is exactly the dimensions I asked for.. what's his 40 speed?

No idea, but he did 100 meters under 11s. Speculatively, between 4.24 and 4.3 (according to the link below).

Probably one of the most amazing athletes ever. Poor english defenders in the 1995 RWC...

Anyway, there is a analysis (whatever it is worth) :

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/146059-could-jonah-lomu-have-made-it-in-the-nfl

Wrapping up, I’d say Lomu was the perfect fit for the NFL. Physically, he was potentially the greatest athlete ever to play the game. Never before or since has a guy of his size and speed played an NFL down.

The only problem. He was born in the wrong country. So wasn’t spotted by scouts until he was probably too old to learn the required technicalities.
I think the fact that a top NFL franchise was prepared to offer a roster spot, and contract, to a player who didn’t even know what a “down” was, suggests how physicallly gifted he was.

If he was born in New Jersey as opposed to New Zealand? God help us all.

The thing is, you guys wonder why we can't beat you at soccer. And you laugh and laugh....

I get it. But here's the thing. Our best athletes play Football, Basketball, and Baseball in that order.

You've got no shot at our best athletes in those sports. If we decided to take off our pads and come at you in a game of rugby? It would take... at best 2 years and we would dominate the world.

Soccer? Get out of here. Your seeing our 4th tier athletes, at best; and we're still close to qualifying. If we had our best athletes in your 'beautiful game,' it would be like the America's Cup... we would win every year.

Pyros: Good grief. I root for a college football team. Every one of our (skill) guys runs in the low 10s. That's nowhere near a 4.2.

A 4.2 is Olympic speed. Like, best ever.

(I'm sure the guy is great, but don't ever listen to BR... Bleacher Report.) They're awful.
