Frontier Dev's are killing their own game

Anyways.. I already quit playin' again like 2 weeks ago (after coming back from an 'extended' 2 year break).

Keep nerfing your game FDevs. You are doing a great job of driving your players away.

Will check back In another couple years.. but honestly not holding my breath.

Nerfing? This is the most buffed game out there. Why else are there thousands of billion-credited players, all fully ranked up, with uber engineered modules?

And I still enjoy it.

Short of some massive shakeup, what you’re seeing is and will likely continue to be the game. There are enough players who scream bloody murder at the idea of the game changing in any form to give FDev the impression that things are going great. People who are discontented are dismissed and treated as if they just don’t understand the game.

All you can do at this point is either shout into the wind, succumb to the mind numbing tedium, or leave. There aren’t many other options.

Bye, remember to close the door behind you.

Not helpful - a good example of what is exactly wrong with the player base over what is right of it. Constructive feedback is welcome, flat out slamdunking, well..................that belongs in the nursery. Off you pop!

The OP clearly has some game breaking issues that affects their enjoyment of the game. likely that nearly all of those, if they were listed, have already been mentioned in the darkest recesses and clearly on the shelves, of these forums.

FD have a plan. We all know that. but, their little engagement with the player base leads to speculation, dis-satisfied players / clients and ultimately people leaving. ED isn't dead, nor dying in my view, but hell......................it could be a whole lot better than it is.

I wonder what all those "leavers" think they'll accomplish by telling us they're leaving.

Oooooh, maybe they think FD will change their game all of a sudden because,...you know, someone left,.........no?

Since Dale left community engagement had dropped off a cliff (comparatively speaking). He seemed to be constantly on, interacting with the community, listening to their complaints, etc. It didn't seem like he looked on it as a job and that is why he was so popular, I expect.

Now: relatively little interaction and back to radio silence... Plus ca change...

There's a lot of fringe stuff happening that only the most dedicated players participate in. The game is taking odd directions, and I really don't get the storyline aspect of the game at all. I've played for a few years and other than a few goid interdictions, I don't think I've encountered any storyline content that didn't come from hints on the forum. Admittedly I ignore in game "tips" that come across the wire, because they reportedly have a history of being hype, wasted work with no reward. It's like "tire of doing the missions in system X? Come to this system Y over here 29 jumps away and do the same missions! but it's a closely guarded secret that you can find anywhere on the internet along with the walkthrough and glitches"

FDev must think players love the jump scene with scooping and scanning ad nauseum, because that seems to be the added bonus to a lot of content.

What has been nerfed compared to two years ago?

Credit earnings?

Nope, quite the oppersite.

Ranking

Not with the Rep+++++ missions

The Python was the last ship nerd over two years ago, and every other change was a buff.

Engineering has seen materials increase from 1 unit to three per item collected, more items spawning, blueprint requirements decreased, material traders added and the RNG of blueprints changed to plannable predictable progressive steps.

So what from two years ago has been nerfed repeatedly in the last two weeks of your play?

They might hope that they matter enough for FDev to say something, anything, to let them know they are being heard, or at least acknowledged. These people paid for this game, too, and they aren’t satisfied with the direction of the game. It’s okay to feel that way. The flippant responses they often engender as a result is from the fan base, and likely reinforces the notion that their concerns don’t matter, because FDev remains silent. Why would someone stick around when the game is unsatisfying, and the community mocks dissent?

Sometimes I see the responses here and think “keep it up and you’ll finally get the game all to yourself.” There will be a handful of hardcore fans hissing mine while trawling the empty world they have claimed as their own.

This game would improve if FD quit and let someone else develop it, I could easily imagine ONE game called open, ships balanced to perfection, way less boring grind much more intelligent grind, a crime and punishment system that works and a system of bounty hunting that allows tracking down and eliminating cmdrs that break the rules.

We are never going to get this game fixed and enjoyable to play because of one mans EGO, YEP there is only one person running and ruining Elite Tedious..sorry autocomplete

Exactly. It has no impact. They’re just desperate for the attention.

Too bad we can’t link our forum and game accounts. Then FDev could implement a forum lockout if a player is no longer playing.

Heh, I must say, this games forums seem to have far more "I've stopped playing" posts than any other. People stop playing games all the time (I've personally stopped playing 100's!) so I'm sure FDev don't take any offence.

Oh come on.
The OP didn't say a word about what he thinks is borked in this game.
I wouldn't have posted my previous reply if the OP came with some sensible reasoning.
Those dumb posts like " FD screws up I'm gone" or "ED is a pile of .... I'm leaving" are accomplishing nothing but give the poster a imaginary sense of superiority over the developers or their work.

I'm not blind for the things in ED that need fixing but these kind of posts are holding zero value imho.

So what you're saying is...

You brought the game. Didn't like it.
Came back. Still didn't like it.

Game is dead.

Nothing to do with you, at all?

That said...

I don't play much either. Nothing to do with the game though, or FD. It's all me.
I was the one who got bored, after 900+ hours.

Nine Hundred Hours.
No other game I've played comes close to that number, or probably ever will.

I think the game is doing just fine. :)
