as it says , we have auto docking ... if we have that option , surly auto landing gear retracting when taking off ? another unnecessary hassle?

so when you land .. do you retract the landing gear ? i find it hard to fathom your question

You know in real life, on real airliners we still have to put the U/C down manually even though the autopilot can fly and land the plane. Once we pull back on the stick its U/C up and A.P. on. The next thing we do bar eating lunch on our lap is flaps, U/C down 3 greens and brake. Add to that, I 'am pretty sure that ocean liner captains still have to drop anchor manually too.

uhm, some of my ships can't hold the speed limit with landing gear retracted (and 0 pips to eng...)
