I know that there's a DS port of the original Elite (pretty much a direct port of Quirky's GBA version), but I'd like to know if anyone's managed to get either FE2 or FFE working on it yet?

You could try an emulator,I think there one for the Atari ST,see if you can
get it to work through that.
