Frontier Elite 2 Music Remastered and in game PLS

Would love a re-interpretation of the track and the version by JamieBoo (?) is exceptional. My thoughts are that is should be in keeping with the new audio/compositional style which, although orchestral is less romantic and more minimal with overtones of electronica. No idea how that would work out as the more romantic orchestration is, in my mind thankfully, missing from ED or less foregrounded. The main motif might need some subtle harmonising with the current style. Might have a go myself but I have a suspicion it would end up as some brutal drum and bass glitch nightmare ;-)

Would love to hear that ;)

Spent a good few hours with colleagues trawling thru' all of the Elite theme tunes arguing about Atari vs Amiga vs Soundblaster etc. Found jamieboo's version too. Top notch, but as you say, the original is cheesey/not too exciting.

Let's see what they do. I'm sure all will be well. Maybe just slow the theme down and get all Vangelis on it.

When I was a junior pilot trainee some twenty-three years ago, I remember having a whole different sound system than I do in my MKIII today. The quality wasn't as good, it was not even stereo, but it didn't matter. I still loved listening to it, and today it brings back many fine memories.
These days, music isn't what it used to be. I sometimes miss hearing the lovely masterpieces of Mussorgsky, Grieg and Strauss, but I see how they might not "fit in" with our world today. I still don't see why Lowe's "Frontier Main Theme" or "Frontier Second Theme" is unavailable.
JamieBoo's version of the Main Theme is interesting, is five-hundred-and-ten times the quality of the original and is almost what I was hoping for. To me: just almost, though. The tempo in the original is so important to the song, and JamieBoo's take, impressive as it is, don't get me wrong, just doesn't cut it for me.
Also, I heard a rumour in the bar in Bloch Station, Ethgreze the other day that someone named JimmyDoo (JimmyDoo - JamieBoo - coincidence?) has strong connections to the Empire. I wonder if they haven't had him sneak hidden imperial propaganda in between the violins and obos, it would be just the thing they'd do.

I don't know what you're talking about.

i love the music thats in game but i want more. i was hoping their music composer could put his own flare on the classic elite music from frontier and first encouters and possibly incorporate them into the game at some point with the update packs. i always especially love the theme for ELite 2 and also the second theme by Lowe.

+1 adding refurbished classic Elite music is also fan service and continues the legacy.

Oh ho, he-heeeey.... Didn't expect you to read this, so... yeah. *insert awkward silence here* I'm not insinuating anything at all, don't think for a second that I am, because, well...
The way I see it, if I'm wrong then you don't deserve being suspected for corrabolating with the Empire WHICHIAMNOTSUSPECTINGATALLNOTATALLOK? If I am right then, well, I for one welcome our new leaders hah hah, yes... No, really. Don't kill me.

Some of the classical music if I remember correctly had some copyright issues crop up after FE2/FFE was released. Most of it would still be safe to use though.

As far as FE2/FFE original music put back in, obviously Dave Lowe is active at the moment so perhaps an arrangement could be possible. Certainly it's an iconic tune for the franchise but is more suited for when the more Frontier-like portions of the game are implemented.

Quality Quartet (who did the FFE music) is a Dutch outfit which is still around but 2/3rds of the principle people from that period have left. FFE did have good original music, hough the game itself did not have the smoothest birthing so I would not expect to see FFE tracks in this natively. Which is disappointing if that comes to pass as I spent rather a lot of time listening to "Atmosphere", a great track in and of itself.
