Hello,
On the original backside of the box art for Frontier Elite II (at least
for the Cd-Rom version), the text mentions that there is no less
than 82 Missions included within the videogame.
http://www.mobygames.com/game/frontier-elite-ii/cover-art/gameCoverId,161833/
I was curious to understand what they meant, and started to write down the different military missions (not "type of mission", I really mean the different missions) that exist in Frontier Elite II. I only found 40. My deduction is that they differentiate a mission made for the Federation from a mission made for the Empire, so that would bring the number to 80, with only 2 missions missing, but those could be the general non-military transportation and assassination requests found on the Bulletin Board.
At any rates, here are the Military Missions I found. Please inform me
if they are more, or of any correction, or if you have access to the source code text of FE2 that could shed a light on what I'm trying to clarify.

I know there are rumours of special enemy ships destruction missions for
Lieutnant/Viscount and up, but they seem to not have been implemented.
I also took note of all the different requests on the Bulletin Board

this information was missing from Frontierverse, but it
is very trivial.
Cheers,

Post-Scriptum: Actually, my incentive for starting this was that I wanted to involve a little narrative in the open-ended universe of FE2. I thought it would be a more interesting challenge to try complete each specific mission, even though this is only interesting from a narrative prospect. I didn't realize then that to reach a higher rank, one had to complete a very large number
of missions, ensuring that all specifics are covered, wrether one cares or not.
