Frontier Expo 2018. Future of Elite Dangerous.

Hello Commanders and Frontier Developments.
We are currently getting more and more updates to the game, as we were promised at Frontier Expo last year.
I'm thinking now if anyone know (It's a question to FD) if we get Frontier Expo 2018 and when it will come?
Also to help FD making plans for next year updates I ask fellow Commanders what would like to have in next year updates?
What features / changes you want to come in to the game?
I'm 99% sure most of you want Spacelegs, but how do you image this? What exactly you want be able to do?
Let's talk about future of Elite Dangerous.

Sorry CMDR bit of a duplicate thread here! updates and content are always being discussed in other threads!

Google will more than likely give you Expo 2018 info.

ROADMAP HERE: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/397639-Elite-Dangerous-2018-Roadmap-Regularly-Updated

I think what ZiggyGG wants to know is the 2019 road map. We already know what the 2018 road map is from the 2017 Expo. The 2018 Expo will hopefully give us the 2019 road map. Hence the reason why ZiggyGG wants to know.

No information out there for Frontier Expo 2018 yet.

Not on Frontier's website nor HereEast's where it was hosted.

Hopefully dates will be announced soon :)

What many are expecting: season 4 with basic Atmospheric planets as premium content.

I am thinking that the basic atmospherics will be the premium DLC that is coming this year maybe at the Q4 update. As to season 4, I believe it will likely continue to be free like this years season with more core gameplay updates like combay zones, res sites, NPC comms and maybe a full on NPC crew system.

If there is another premium DLC next year that could be more planets to play with. Maybe Gas Giants or something like that.

That's what I'm expecting too but I try to not hype myself too much

Yep!

I'd wondered if Q4's DLC was going to be atmospheric landing... But I suspect they'd plan that for 4.0 instead now...

Fingers crossed!

Same here. It's what I would like to see, but I try to not convince myself that is coming. The premium update could be something rubbish, so not keeping my hopes up too high.

Yeah it could be something like : they said premium content is coming with atmo planets in mind then change their plans in emergency due to being late and releasing something else no one care or want to pay for. Or this thing no one care could even be what they had planned from the beggining:)...

But I really can't think of anything "Premium" they could come with that is not something big like atmo and that people would be ok to pay for...

Cmdr Thrust from Bradford has his Premium Expo Tickets already.

Yeah that's the kind of rubbish we could end with :D

Call me cynical, but I wonder if the premium content might be squadrons plus, including player ability to take a "fleet carrier" into a cz as a player controlled capital ship, where non-premium (sub-prime?) squadrons only get to put their carrier in safe positions like a civilian mega-ship or starport?

That would be deemed as play to win. I very much doubt it will have anything to do with squadrons.

I would pay for atmospheric planets DLC, but if they introduce spacelegs as premium DLC i will SURE 10000% buy it! :D

Nah. Frontier don't introduce Pay2Win in Elite.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for sharing all of your interesting ideas!

Just wanted to remind everyone of our Frontier Expo announcements and the roadmap for Elite Dangerous this year (you can watch it here.)

There will be additional small surprises on the way, but these Focused Feedback topics cover some the large features that are coming this year as part of Beyond series of updates.

Definitely will go to the Expo this year if they run it. Although, I really did not benefit from having the Founders Pass tickets, as circumstances meant I was a very late arrival, I couldn't get into the preferential seating, missed the meet & greet with David Braben, wasn't able to get in to the Anthony Ross talk, and at the end of the day my wife said she would rather go and get dinner than stay for the after party, so that was a massive waste of money. Will be getting the regular tickets this time around.

All that being said, what I did experience of the expo was really fun and a few things on my list this year to actually do:

- Have a chat with a developer, probably Sandro, as I did see him around a lot at the last expo but never got the chance to meet him.
- Try Elite on the VR tables - missed out on this last year as I was too busy trying the HOTAS One for Xbox.
- Set a decent time in the Buckyball Race (there is going to be one, right?)
- Go to all the talks
- Stay for the after party

I am, however, really hoping FD hire some different caterers, because they were a bit pants last year.
