Frontier have potentially fixed Fighter Lag in PvP, and Rubberbanding Around Systems and Supercruise

  • Fixed issues with ship rubber banding.
  • Integrated Oodle network compression library to reduce network bandwidth.

Really hoping this solves rubberbanding and glitched instances thanks to Fighter lag in PvP scenarios.

Also in Supercruise it was so annoying when you pulled someone, and they disappeared, only to reappear behind you 1 second later.

If this doesn't fix fighter lag directly, it's a step in the right direction. Thanks Frontier.
 
I once helped out a complete newbie in an eagle, in the local haz rez.
He was VERY suspicious, but I finally persuaded him to wing up, and that I meant him no harm, and only wanted to help him make a little money.
He got shot up after taking on some NPC’s, so I told him to sit still while I healed his shields, with my healing beam laser.
So we sat nose to nose, and I forgot to change fire groups to my healing beam.
( I was in a Corvette), and accidentally therefore opened up all weapons into his ship, and blew him into tiny pieces in about 1.5 secs.
I never saw him again.

And before anyone says anything. Yes it really was an accident.

Oh well.

Uh this one time there was a parade for a returning explorer name of Ol (ex AEDC and ex [NULL])

He was carrying a LOT of explo data and returning from an early Sag A and beyond trip back when 28Ly was a long jump range for a ship. Before Jacques, before Colonia, before the Neutron Highway, before Engineers. Weeks or months away when the game was less than a year live.

Lots of chaff and lasers for fireworks as about 10 CMDRs accompanied him to the final destination. Until one guy targeted Ol while lasering and had “a HOTAS malfunction”.

Eject eject eject.

Ol was so cool about it.
Accepted the apology and explanation. “It happens man”.
