Hello Frontier and my fellow commanders.
About a year ago under a different name I posted on the forums, in a rage toward Frontier, about a certain lost ship due to unexpected ship malfunctions (completely legitimate causes, just infuriating).
Since then I've turned a new leaf after discovering that the Elite Dangerous galaxy is modeled (with incredible accuracy, I might add) directly after our actual Milky Way Galaxy and the map provides access to REAL systems and planets. (I realized this after recognizing Sol in-game and comparing the information about planets to a Google search)
One such special moment for me was finding Vega, Betelguese, VY Canis Majoris and Arcturus. REAL stars within our galaxy that completely dwarf the size of our sun. Some that dwarf our entire solar system. I love astrophysics and astrology so I have grown a deep appreciation in my heart for the hard work involved to make this game possible. The information provided in data scans and nav beacons is exciting and fascinating, I love just exploring!
When I first played this game it was all about the credit grind and bigger and better ships. Now, I find myself lost in the galaxy map and archive of information provided about stars and known/potential planets. You can learn so much from this game it's mind boggling!
The scaling representations are absolutely phenomenal and the visuals are amazing. I have come to love this game through the labor of learning it from scratch and now I am discovering more than I ever expected.
Frontier, I owe you a true heart-felt apology for not appreciating all of what elite dangerous has to offer it's players. I was so caught in the grind and frustration of lost profit that I disvalued the experience. I underappreciated you all as a company and as the awesome individuals you are working together to create such an amazing experience. I am truly sorry.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am very excited to see where this game goes and what the future holds in store for all of your commanders.
To end this with a topic of discussion (ha ha) I want to ask all and any reading this; what is your favorite thing about elite dangerous?
*AND*
