Frontier, please tell us if the Panther Clipper will ever leave spacedock

Getting the Panther Clipper through the mail slot should be easy. We already have ships with moving parts like thrusters. While the mail slot might be limited in width and height the ship can be quite long to fit through. It just needs clever moving body parts. :)
Long and tall like a Beluga and wide like a T10 sounds about right :)

Yes think of it as a car crusher.

Just be careful which bit of the interior you are in when it compresses itself.

I seem to recall needing to stick it on fast forward in order to get it to squeeze into the orbital stations though.
Fly to just in front of the docking slot, then turn and fly toward the centre of the planet adjusting using the rear view to keep the slot centred.
Come to a halt, turn back toward the station and head to the centre of the slot, as you get close slow down and watch the slot spin when you think it is far enough away from being aligned hit full throttle and boost.
If you got it right after a lot of banging and crashing you will be docked and at the station services screen checking whether you could afford the DC yet.

The happy days of Elite on a 48k ZX Spectrum.
