Yes, you can, but Frontier likes to know personal data (name and email address) you probably do not know from your friend. And you can not ask him or he will guess that you want to make him a chistmas present.
He can always create a temporary email address, and his friend will change when he receives the gift

Oh no, the gift has to be won first Jeff! I have some fiendish little competitions planned for next week with some small prizes on offer as a way to say thank-you to all the forum members for the help they've provided and also the fun I have reading their posts every day.
