I'm not going to thank them for what they should have had ready 3 months ago.
But I am happy it was done.
I don't believe both feelings are mutually exclusive either.

I had set up a new account on PC to essentially start over, albeit with access to my billions.
With the talk of a transfer needing a clean save it left me in limbo as I wasn't sure which account had a future.
Now with this both accounts have a future and I can push onwards.
Vastly exceeding expectations.

Exactly, I'm happy and fortunate enough to own a PC with high enough specs to be able to "transfer".
The announcement killed are very active squadron on console. The core basically play NMS now.
They have had enough. They are not Elite dangerous fanboys like me. 90% are not transferring. 90% lost.
So while im thankful for a free account on PC I'm not thankful they killed my squadron.
No, are you high or something. I don’t believe account transfers make up for the fact that Frontier is abandoning us on consoles. It doesn’t make up the fact that FDev beat around the bush for months without an ounce of communication. It definitely doesn’t make up for the fact that not everything can be transferred over, So, no, not “thank you…” Actually in reality they didn’t answer or “fix” our “desires.” The majority of people I know cannot just suddenly out the money for a computer…and there really shouldn’t be any reason odyssey shouldn’t be able to run on the series X/S.
A-freakin-men. Frontier abandoned a huge chunk of their player base. They don’t deserve any thanks. And personally I’ll thank them when they either sell off their game or stop developing it.
Yeah this, I see no reason to be thankful at all.
I was as critical and as vocal as anyone, but yeah. What we've got is far better than we could have had, and I'm thankful for that. I'm probably more annoyed than anyone else that we were robbed of Odyssey on console due to a lack of Frontier's ability to port it, but I'm more than happy at their efforts to compensate for it.
I'll carry on playing on both platforms, for fun. Let's see where this goes.

I didn't play for like 2 years because the game doesn't use the features correctly (Powerplay is useless, empty space, broken AI, etc.). I was waiting for Odyssey to relaunch the game. Now learning that the console version of ED is now dead, I guess it's not worth waiting anymore. I'm a bit sad about that
