Frontier, thanks for tweaking the animal lifespans, but please consider slowing down the time counter as well to match the changes realistically

I will be so disappointed too. What a shame. Like, I will play the game still, but probably not so much as if the time speed would have been fixed. I was so excited for career and franchise mode, but now I’m not sure I will be enjoying it much after I have seen 100 animals die on the first week (or more!). Eventually it becomes imposible to remember all of them by name and personality, there’s just not enough time to keep with them.

I was particularly excited with doing some cool ideas for the exhibits, but I think now I will skip them altogether. I’m not adopting an animal to watch them die 15 minutes after forcing me micromanage 2000 babies.

I don’t really like playing on Sandbox, so hopefully they reconsider their decision.
And the worst thing is that the only alternative is immortal animals, which is just unrealistic and doesn't really work. Really bummed. Wish the devs would listen for once after 99% of the community stated what they wanted instead of listening to the 1%

Disapointed as well to read this.

It's not a solution at all, but can we switch breeding and aging on from time at least in sandbox, to play in our own pace? Did that with Sims all the time. I agree though, that this is a foul solution and will not help in any other mode.

But lets still wait and see and hope for the best.

Generally Frontier listen to the community from various sources, not just the forums. I would expect they would then experiment and decide if such changes make things better in their eyes, rather than just doing what people say.

I think it's a huge exaggeration to claim 99% of the community wanted change..

I quoted something from Loneblind from the closed topic. Can't describe it better in my own words.

Generally I'm just saying I don't get the concern when we haven't even seen the finished game yet and there's absolutely no precedent set by Frontier to suggest they won't continue to balance and tailor the game for the optimal player experience, or will only change the game based on the loudest complainers. To be honest it seems both sides of this issue have been pretty loud (and dramatic lol) so I think its just personal bias for people against the change to assume Frontier only did because they were demanded to, rather than that they heard the feedback and decided it would be best for their vision of the game. We don't even have any reason to believe they changed the speed at all. Sounds to me like they decided to address the issue in their own way, rather than just did what they were told :P

the balancing itself that I'm sure people will ask for after release may take a lot of work, but for now I think a quick fix, such as artificially making time "slower" by slowing down just the time counter and nothing else should do the trick with the limited amount of time to release
But as it seems to be, that we don't get this slow down we asked for, we will get it most likely never. And to explain my doubts, the change of the birth rate is for me something that is not something they have done , cause only the players want it so much....I guess it helps frontier by reducing the amout of animals on the market and the server load.
