Frontier, you really do yourselves no justice at all.

Greetings,

I just landed at a random station for supplies. The usual voice greeting I have come to adore and (honestly) sometimes ignore echoed in my cockpit. As I landed and my ship powered down, the station announced told me that "An outbreak has occurred and some areas of the station have been quarantined". He went on to say that I shouldn't be worried at all.

I checked the state of the system, and sure enough, it was in Outbreak.

This is just damn awesome. When did they sneak in announcers commenting on the state of the system?! Absolutely epic.

I love this game.

Yes, these are pretty cool. There's also one that says something like: "This system is in civil war - be careful who you side with, Commander."

Wow, I was about to get my lance out (given the title of the thread) but find myself pleasantly surprised by a nice comment.

Good on you OP.

The level of detail in this game is astonishing from the sound to the graphics (OK that is a bit sketchy ATM, I know) to the content.

Let's just hope that they keep it up because I have read the same scripts out in space about 1000000 times (feels that way, anyhoo).

I love the background radio chatter. I don't always play with headphones but am doing so more now that I have a new Sennheiser set of cans and that's when they're much more audible for me. The chatter just adds so much atmosphere and I have even recognised some of the voice talent (such as the bloke who does the voiceover for the tutorial videos).

Some people are so easily pleased

As far as i know they always make those comments. Like "This system is in a state of civil war, be careful who you side with" etc.

Yeah they have been in game for a long time now (At least 7+months) The sound team are excellent, always adding these nice little extra touches.

Oh well, the development is an ongoing process. I would not at all be surprised if more and more variation is added over time.

They have an excellent sound team and they have to keep it busy, after all. New small but awsome details and additions are therefore likely over the future course of the game.

However, with the appearance of the Thargoids, a whole new sound universe opens up and I guess, the sound team had more than enough tasks on their schedule to keep them entertained! I won't be mad at them, if there won't be many little details added to older game assets in the near future.
But who knows, maybe they'll surprise me ...

Similar dialogue for "State of War" systems.

I took a Massacre mission for 54 kills but there was a ceasefire at around 48... so... I decided to see what would happen if I shot a Mission target during the ceasefire.

Well... I escaped with around 60% hull... guess I'll have to plan that one better next time.

They add a lot of atmosphere to the game.

I would like the announcers in anarchy systems to be a little different though.

They say different things, about watching yourself around here, and that this place isn't the safest. Keep an ear out.

But yeah... all this has been in since the first implementation of these things. It's cool, should be more and more varied voice acting going in every week if you ask me.

Its amazing how much this small thing brings to the game. They call out the first three initials if your CMDR name too. Here's hoping FD bring more of this in 2.4 and beyond

The traffic control voices were widely appreciated (don't remember when that happened, 2.1 maybe ?) at release and they are still doing wonders today. The sound in E: D is just awesome :D

The best station greeting is the one you get by the Scottish guy if you try using a docking computer. Also great is the response you get from some if you try smuggling and go in with silent running activated. More please Frontier!
