Frontier, you really do yourselves no justice at all.

Its amazing how much this small thing brings to the game. They call out the first three initials if your CMDR name too. Here's hoping FD bring more of this in 2.4 and beyond

Yeah, I love that, a really nice little touch. In fact, the station comms as a whole are really immersive, and there's some good variety too. Also, they change depending on your local reputation, so a station you've been working out of for a long time is going to give you a really nice greeting, whereas one you've only just visited will be a lot less friendly.

Greetings,

I just landed at a random station for supplies. The usual voice greeting I have come to adore and (honestly) sometimes ignore echoed in my cockpit. As I landed and my ship powered down, the station announced told me that "An outbreak has occurred and some areas of the station have been quarantined". He went on to say that I shouldn't be worried at all.

I checked the state of the system, and sure enough, it was in Outbreak.

This is just damn awesome. When did they sneak in announcers commenting on the state of the system?! Absolutely epic.

I love this game.

Well since the traffic are voiced they do it... you just didn't noticed.

Agreed. The audio crew have always put in effective effort since premium beta days, and it keeps improving all the time.

That one's always nice. I'm Allied with Al-Haytham Enterprise, so when I come in, I get this wonderfully warm welcome. ♥

They do a pretty good job with the stations. Bought a new headset a few weeks ago to replace my aging set that finally gave out, and was surprised to find that there's background radio chatter in the cockpit. If you listen close, you can hear other 'pilots' chattering back and forth like you would on an open net.

Can't always make out what they're saying, but the fact that it's there at all is pretty BA.

The voice audio really does add something to the game. Really should have been in from day one imo.

The best station greeting is the one you get by the Scottish guy if you try using a docking computer. Also great is the response you get from some if you try smuggling and go in with silent running activated. More please Frontier!

The one that makes me laugh is the female voice with the strong Lancashire accent.

I applaud your possitive perception of the feature.

But ...

... Really should have been in from day one imo. ...

What would you have liked to be postponed instead?
Time is limited and it's not as if the addition would have been produced already and just held back for a payed DLC.

Personally, I am happy that FDev keeps improving their game and add such awesome details (to a game mechanic that could be considered done) even years after launch.
Isn't this a reason to be thankful rather than to complain that it wasn't in the game since day one?

Although it's nice and all but I'll be "that guy". It feels like adding chrome exhaust pipe end to your totally rusted old truck. Sure it looks nice, fine detail there to make you smile a bit. But when the rest of a truck is damaged, rusted, leaking oil and in need of serious work...

Thought I'd read that they're going to do something to make it use the Registry ID you can put on the ships now. The first 3 letters of your name are just the placeholder at present.

That should be fun. "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Zero One, Welcome to this Imperial station" LOL

Scrap the truck then, and buy something else. :p
