Hi everyone!

We’re nearing that time of the year again... wearing cozy jumpers, picking out presents and decorations, celebrating together with family and friends... As per tradition, we’d like to celebrate with you too!

Frontier’s 24 Hour Charity Livestream
On December 11, 2017 (midday GMT), Ed and Bo will kick off our third annual Charity livestream in honour of SpecialEffect, a wonderful charity which helps disabled people use technology and play videogames. We will be joined by amazing developer guests, do midnight challenges, and get progressively tired and silly in the name of a great cause! Last year, we raised over £46,000 together with a £10,000 target; this year we've gone for a more ambitious £25,000 in the hopes that you'll be there to support us to reach that amazing amount. We will be hosting several activities in the weeks to come and during the 24 hour stream, which will end on December 12 (midday GMT).

We will be streaming on twitch.tv/frontierdevelopments and will upload the entire livestream on YouTube afterwards for archive purposes.
Please read the below sections carefully if you want to join us in spreading the holiday spirit, and also have a chance to receive some amazing and unique prizes!

Charity Sweepstake
For every £1 you donate to our Just Giving campaign, you get one entry into the prize draw. At the end of the 24 hour stream we will pick winners together on screen, so make sure to donate and enter your email address (the optional field at donation, not as a comment) for a chance to win one of the following amazing prizes:

  • High-end gaming PC worth £2,000!
  • Xbox One X console
  • PlayStation 4 Pro console

(Terms and Conditions apply, please see the bottom of this post for details!)

Blind Charity Auction Coming Soon!
Like last year, we’re also organising a Blind Charity Auction with super unique prizes for you to bid on (with all the money going to SpecialEffect via our Just Giving page). We’re finalising the auction items as we speak, and will post more info about them in the next week or so – these are amazing, bespoke, epic prizes that we hope you’ll enjoy! Keep your eyes peeled on our forums for the Blind Charity Auction coming soon!

Last but not least...
We love that you are helping out by donating to SpecialEffect and supporting us by watching our streams. That’s why we’ve set up a very special Advent Calendar that will run throughout the stream, starting from the campaign amount when the stream goes live on December 11. For each £1,000 we raise during those 24 hours, we will open a Calendar door, and there’s loads of surprises behind them... ranging from silly little dares to big giveaways! So help us reach those milestones!

Thank you for supporting us throughout the past year, with all the updates, our first ever Frontier Expo, streams, and more! Your enthusiasm and love for Frontier is what keeps us ever going, and we couldn’t do it without you. We hope you’re excited to join our celebration, all in support of the amazing charity SpecialEffect. Every little bit helps make a difference in someone else’s life.
We’ll be sure to host an awesome show on December 11, 2017.

I really enjoyed last years, and am so glad that you are all doing this again!

I will be sure to donate to such an amazing charity, and look forward to watching the stream [big grin]

I really enjoyed last year's one and am definitely looking forward to this one (and will be watching as much as I can as well as donating).

Just an idea for the Planet Coaster Players ... Why don't you give us the option to get the FX17-DLC one times for a minimum donation of £10 to your "Just Giving"-page. This would be a fair addition for the PC players and give those, who havn't the chance to visit at the Expo the possibility to get this DLC too. Maybe something to think over.

I'm sorry, but I really don't understand what this charity is collecting money for? The official texts from Frontier is all about the lottery of unique stuff to win and only a topic named "Special effects" that leave me with questions. For me it would be more encouraging to know what the collected money are intended to be spent on. So is this money to Frontier to invest in projects to all their games to create more special effects? Invest in new software to be able to make more advanced special effect? [weird]

Or is this a title of something completely else? Maybe something that is known in the UK, but not abroad? [weird]

All the money collected goes to a charity called SpecialEffect (https://www.specialeffect.org.uk) who do some great work helping make the lives of disabled people better through gaming and technology in general. There are videos shown regularly during the livestream that showcase some of the work that they're doing.

Frontier have regular prize giveaways during the livestream, and at the end there's a lottery for a bunch of prizes where for every £1 you've donated you get one ticket.

disappointed. just a bunch of people babbling. has nothing to do with the game.

This is not a Planet Coaster 24h stream but a Frontier stream. They did some playing with Planet Coaster earlier and released new screenshots for the upcoming new DLC. Right now it is a segment more towards Elite.

What did you expect the stream to be about for 24h? So far this is fairly similar to what they did last year.

^ What xyphic said.

Frontier's 24-hour Charity livestream is in aid for SpecialEffect, a wonderful cause that is supporting disabled people to play games that they wouldn't be able to play without them. This enables those people to get moments of joy in their lives that are often filled with difficulties and struggles.

The livestream is about supporting this charity; it is an event where the community gets involved in donating to this cause. It is not about the games of Frontier; it was never communicated as such. The games do get involved in a few of the timeslots on the livestream.

Thank you everyone for supporting Frontier in aid for SpecialEffect! Every pound counts and is appreciated greatly!

By all means, do not feel the need to participate or to donate, it is entirely voluntary. If you rather want to watch livestreams about Planet Coaster; Frontier will resume their streaming schedule after the Christmas holidays :)

Thank you <3

And here I am trying to make my first scenario and of course I want it to be fabulous. I am even looking at photos of architecture while building.

So, I have heard Bo say repeatedly that there are other streams with planet coaster game play going on at the same time. And having searched I can't find any other live streams. Where do I find the game play stream. Sorry if that's a stupid question, but this is the first time I've watched a live stream. Thanks!

Zillieness and Mssnowwhite are both streaming Planet Coaster on their respective Twitch streams.
