Frustrated by Baron rank needed for Imperial Clipper

I Have a Lord rank for about second week and I can't find no rank progression mission anymore, I tried everything, doing many many quests for empire, travel to different stations and doing quests for different empire fractions and still nothing, also trading between empire stations, bounty hunting and fighting in civil war. Is this a bug or just designers never play games before and they have no idea what are they doing?

When I wanted my Clipper, it was the second rank (Serf I think?) that drove me almost crazy. After that I got to Baron in about 3-4 hours... It seems very random, but they DO pop. Just keep plugging away I guess...

Most of mine came from high pop/hi tech stations. I did have an issue once or twice with having to wait but no where near two weeks, a day or two at most

You have to be careful what factions you do missions for. Make sure they are aligned with the empire, if you become friendly or Allied with a faction then move on. Best way to do it is to find those delivery missions where you don't get paid (rep gain) Keep doing those and eventually you get the Rank increase mission.

Forget bounty hunting/civil war/ or trading.. it takes too long.

I bought my first Clipper at rank Knight, took 4 day's because I wasn't sure exactly what to do. Bought my second ship at Baron after the patch, increased from Knight to Baron in one session. Only thing I did was free slaves and deliver a few goods for free.

It seems that you must become friendly with the empire to progress beyond squire and allied to get to max rank. At least it worked that way with my federation ranks. In the empire I'm squire now and still at neutral, no more progression.

I'm the same mate. Like I said in another thread I followed Yokai's guide but it has completely stalled on me. No mission for Baron for a week now. I'm starting to think it's bugged.

I felt your pain too when I was in the same boat. Remember, the RNG gods are also at play here. Some people get luckier and pop that next ascension mission sooner than others...

It's not bugged dude, you're just doing it wrong. Follow the advice posted in this topic

Mine was pretty painless actually. Neglected my rank at Lord for awhile, during Tenche Gold Rush I got bored ferrying PE around so I start doing missions that I can complete just by going to the market and buy the needed goods there for some variety. 3 days of that random easy missions later and they offer me a simple delivery mission for rank up.

Hmm. I don't think I'm doing it wrong, I am doing all the things suggested, but I will give a high tech dictatorship a try, I've got a few of them noted down. Thanks :) (fingers crossed!)

My main hub was Hitech Patronage, worked fine. Not sure if it matters but I was/am allied with the station

It took me several days, about a week I'd say. Use high population systems. It helps a lot. In a matter of a 8-10 missions for the same faction (that must be aligned with the Empire) you should achieve the next step. Friendly status is not required.

In another thread they suggested to go to another system a few ly away and do some haulage- / pirate- / reputation- missions. Worked for me and also cleared the duplicates imperial summons (permit) missions I was offered constantly. Although in my case it was just a few hours, not days or even weeks.
So far I made it from outsider to viscount in less than 24 hours.

If you are allied with the station that sells the clipper, they will be willing to overlook the rank requirement. I'm only Lord but allied with Empire but I can certainly buy the clipper pretty much anywhere in Imperial space.

So I believe that the constant permit offering is bugged and its related with rank progression, I did everything, I am allied everywhere and still no progression.
