Frustrated: When requesting to leave station

New to Elite and feel I want to winge on some silly matters that to me have an impact on the feel of the game, sooo....

Is it just me that sees the whole mechanical turning of the ship as pointless and a waste of time when requesting to leave the station? Can the autopilot or even real pilot not be trusted to accomplish this task? Again, when heading to outfitting, I have no problem with the ship descending into the bowels if there are mods being fitted but just to go and browse and have the ship go through the whole rigmarole every time in the digital age of the Elite universe seems pretty pointless!

Also I think it would be ace if when putting the ship in to storage, you see it enter a hanger with other ships

I also think a bit of real traffic control should be implemented for entering and exiting the vicinity of spaceports. It seems the autopilot is aware of a cue to exit but we are not if manually flying... Not that I would necessarily take note, but it would add to a more real-world feel if we were told to hold back!

So - you don't like waiting to go to outfitting or to launch, but you want more waiting when leaving and entering the station on manual? 🤔

I'm not sure I even understand the issues.
If I do; would you rather turn your ship manually after the lift off? People are complaining about hitting npc traffic enough as it is (at wich I have no idea how people can crash with the traffic, it's nigh impossible)
As to queueing, I always follow the flow, it's easy. There is a queue system and as long as you do, npc's follows it to the letter (bar the Beluga in the mailslot, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!)

Always hit enter hangar as soon as you land. This removes half the wait time by the time you've done your station stuff, normally.

^ And you can use the commodity market, mission board and refuel/repair without being fully in the hanger. By the time you've done you should be ready to leave. Unless you're outfitting etc.

Yep. It's now muscle memory to hit enter hanger, then station services. I sometimes hit return to surface part way through doing things too, if I absolutely KNOW I won't be outfitting.

Then you've done the entire process before you hit launch.

Tip: quit to menu will put you in the hangar directly :)

Given what I have seen outside of Elite I would not trust players to turn around their ship.
For example I saw someone turn around her car at the start in Super Mario Cart. And it was unintenionally.
