Let me preface this post by saying that I have done some stupid stuff and I have run into suns, planets and even the occasional visitor beacon but always to my detriment and or demise. But... I just completed a long sightseeing run worth over 4,000,000 credits and returned to Ray Gateway. I entered the bay and was heading towards my landing pad when someone launched from theirs at top speed and slammed into me from below.
It spun my Dolphin around and caused hull damage but there was no fine and no warning to me. The other party careened out of the bay into space traveling at a high rate and very erratically, however I received the "Contract cancelled" alert. I understand it was because of the hull damage, but it's very frustrating to spend an hour carefully completing a mission only to have someone who doesn't care cause you to loose it.
My plan was to attend Distant Worlds 2 but after this I'm gonna head back out into the black void and play solo. I enjoy the role play aspect but if others can so easily negatively impact an outcome then it's best that I head West where I can control my on destiny........ to an extent [smile].
Just venting while I pack up Ye' Ole' Swamp Fox for departure.
