FSD bugged "too close" - to what?

i'm stuck in the middle of nowhere and my fsd jumps me into supercruise before saying "too close - emergency stop" and dropping me out of supercruise. i'm not near any object. what's up with that?

Sometimes happened to me when in an asteroid belt.

Best thing to do is to hyperdrive to another system

I remember this happened to me constantly when I first started playing.

Embarrassingly it turned out to be a planet in my way, which I couldn't, see at first, because the side of the planet that I was on, was in shadow.

In my defense it was my first try at ED. Could this be your problem?

jump out jump back in again

i was frantically looking around space for some reason, like an obelisk or something

I was interdicted (or whatever it's called) on the way to somewhere and now I can't actualy jump anywhere as its saying too close yet I'm not near anything and this pretty much makes my first 80k mission a total loss.

Does anyone have a solution that doesn't involve starting again?

Maybe it's Saturn's rings.

I had this too and it turned out to be a massive planet or something! completely black in the way. I needed to jump away and back in.
