FSD Charging?

Morning all, im just wondering why the FSD charging bars time to get to full power. Sometimes its realtively quick, other times it can be 30 seconds +. Any ideas?

Its effected by other ships in your vicinity. In the beta you used to almost always blow up if you tried to FSD with another ship in your vicinity it took that long and heat damage was more severe.

Lets say going from normal propulsion to super-cruise pre-charges the drive. When you go from super-cruise to hyper-drive charging takes less time. In other words, going from normal propulsion to hyper-drives takes longer than when you are already in super-cruise and want to make a hyper jump. And indeed, other mass in the direct vicinity also slows the charge. You get a message when this happens.
