Newcomer / Intro FSD Engineer - Stuck at 162ly out of 300ly

Evening, a fairly easy (but stupid) question if I may.

Put in about 2 weeks playtime so far, and am looking to start getting my engineers.

However, for the FSD engineer, I need to travel 300 ly from my starting system, and its currently at 162ly but not going any higher. I've done a few boom deliveries of 42ly but they are not adding anything.

So I have set my destination to Maia , 400 odd ly away.

Done about half the hyper drive jumps, but again, still only on 162 ly.

This is on the Xbox.

Anything I'm doing wrong???

Possibly not - the 300 ly is the distance from your starter system that you need to reach. And the 162 ly is (probably - I don't know where you're loooking to get that number) the furthest distance you have reached so far.

In order to check: go to the galactic map, select your starter system and look at the current distance. If that is larger than 162 ly, you can file a bug report. If not, you can keep on jumping.

They reduced it to 300LY? Cool.

The distance traveled is counted in a straight line from where you last docked. (Or possibly from Sol, there are some arguments about that.)
Just keep going away from the bubble and it will start rising.

Hey Ashnak,

You were right, that's working exactly like you said. I guess in my previous flights, I've not been going out in a straight line, hence why it's stuck at 162.

Now at 181 and gaining. Perfect.

If it's Elvira Martuuk, I've been stuck at 258 ly for weeks now. :)

No. Farseer has been 300 LY from the beginning. It's that other one requires 5 k LY.

I still can't believe after all this time I still have a max distance travelled from start of.......504Ly!

Sigh, I really am going to have to get going in the modded AspX and bite off that 5000Ly.
