You are probably mistaking the bootup time with the charge time.
The enhanced CG drive starts up faster when you have powered it down. It does not get you into supercruise faster than standard.

2 Strange. Maybe Your "old" FSD is experimentally engineered (mass manager) or just larger.

Would this be the Guardian FSD booster you disabled. If so, you will not be able to jump to the next plotted system (just thinking)
