Engineers FSD Interdictor Engineering - is it worth it?

Ok so looking to engineer my new fat 4A Interdictor, but when I read the blueprints I’m not really impressed.

Looks like I can increase the range (at the cost of a smaller angle), or
I increase the angle (at the cost of shorter range).

1. Am I interpreting this correctly?
2. If so, which upgrade is “better”?
3. Is the upgrade even worth it, given the negatives...?

NPCs, long range.
Other players, increase angle.
Having said that, I have a couple on ships that have no engineering, work fine for NPCs.

For npc piracy/killing extra range is great!

I definitely prefer expanded arc. I find it much easier to reduce the distance than to fly around NPCs to catch them from behind.

Long Range = 24s range with a 37.5 deg capture angle from behind.
Exp Cap Arc = 12s range with a 100 deg capture angle from behind.

Expanded Capture Arc for me. Approaching stations with lots of nearby
ships the Target Scan starts below 40 sec. By the time it completes I'm
already there.
